7 lifestyle tips + 7 supplements for liver support

In addition to detoxing through food there are some lifestyle changes you can make to help eliminate toxins and supplements you can take to aid in the process. Sometimes foods only help with the phase I of the liver detoxification and not enough with phase II which is why both lifestyle recommendations and supplements come into play. They are the best way to avoid detox side effects.

Top 7 lifestyle recommendations:

  1. Exercise (it increases blood and lymphatic circulation, distributes nutrients and removes metabolic waste from cells -- also improves bowel movements, sleep, and reduces stress)

  2. Yoga and meditation practices help reduce stress and improve sleep -- and did you know? There are certain yoga exercises that can actually enhance the health of your liver!? Twisting compressing muscles and organs, which blocks the flow of blood. When you release the pose, blood flows back into those areas bringing with it nutrients and improving circulation.

  3. Sweat out toxins for quick beneficial results - steam rooms and saunas (infrared is best)

  4. Swap out your traditional skin care and makeup products AND household products for ones with clean, real, simple, ingredients. Here are some of my favorites!

*The household products can be purchased online at Thrive Market (use this link for 25% off)

5. Reduce your plastic use as much as possible.

  • Carry a refillable glass water bottle - I love it because it's 32oz and tells you how much water to drink at each time of the day

  • Use wax covers instead of plastic wrap or foil

  • Swap your plastic Tupperware for glass

6. Use a dry brush before bathing or showering (it stimulates your lymph glands)

7. Take baths with Epsom salt (it's magnesium sulfate and helps with the detoxification processes)

Top 7 Supplement recommendations:

*Please note that natural remedies take time and work with your body. Opposite from pharmaceutical drugs, they do not suppress or strong arm your body into submission.

6. DIM

These supplements will vary per person and dosages will range depending on exactly what your body needs. If you are interested in using them I would recommend working with me to make sure you are on the right track and together we can consult your doctor on what is best for you!

That wraps up our liver and detox talk for now, BUT that doesn't mean the fun has to end! Next week I am open for free 30 min consultations to help kick YOUR detox into gear.
